Resident Placement:
Aileen Vasquez grew up in Los Angeles, CA. Her mother and father are immigrants from Cuba and Chile respectively. Both came to this country seeking better opportunities and a brighter future. The values of faith, education, service, and community she learned at home would become evident in her career choices.
At a very early age, Aileen understood the importance of Education. In 2007, she earned her bachelor’s in information technology (BSIT). She would later continue her studies and earn a master’s degree in public administration (MPA), where she specialized in public budgeting and human resource management from California State University – Northridge. After getting married and having her first child, Aileen decided to pursue her dream of becoming a school teacher. This decision would allow her to spend more time with her family, which in turn would be a wise decision. She attended Cal State Teach to earn her multiple subject teaching credential. Keeping her faith in God at the center of all, Aileen followed her call into Catholic school education, leadership and later became the vice principal of her school site for many years, before becoming part of cohort nine Onward Leaders.
